Help at Home is committed to delivering a gold standard in care through our attentive and well-trained staff who support making it possible to keep people comfortably and safely within their homes and communities.Under the guidance of the Chief Legal Officer, In-House Counsel will be responsible for providing support and counsel to organizational leaders and employees at all levels on a wide-range of legal issues relating to the home care business, mergers & acquisitions and other operational issues and contracts.Duties/Responsibilities:Review a variety of contracts and other agreements recommending amendments to meet current business requirements.Participate in M&A transaction due diligence activities and review, assess, recommend changes as it pertains to transactional documentation.Advise on healthcare, regulatory, labor/employment and commercial matters as requested by support function leaders.Provide effective risk management advice on legal topics and municate and negotiate with internal and external municate with regulators, external counsel, public authorities, etc.Draft and negotiate agreements, contracts and other legal documents.Participate in and manage complex matters with multiple stakeholders.Maintain current knowledge of applicable industry legislation.Required Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge and proven experience as a legal advisorKnowledge of the home healthcare industry and the regulatory bodies governing the industryDemonstrated ability to create proactive legal strategiesHigh degree of professional ethics and integritySound judgement and ability to analyze legal mattersExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenEducation and Experience:A minimum of 3+ years of law firm or corporate legal department experience J.D. degree and an active law licensePhysical Requirements: Typical office setting, indoor and extensive use of computerMinimal lifting, bending but role typically requires long period of sittingAbility to travel between assigned locations as needed The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
