Our 109,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.Primary FunctionThe key performance objective for the Sales Training Manager is to assess the training needs of the sales organization and develop the curriculum to meet these needs. This position is responsible for enhancing the ability of the sales team to consultatively sell Neuromodulation products through multiple training methods to include live training, virtual training, and experience-based training. This position will leverage personal experience as a salesperson with field rides to create a field-focused feedback loop to internal functions within the organization. Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop and keep updated the sales and technical training curriculum for newly hired employees.Develop and keep updated the sales, technical and business acumen training curriculum for tenured employees.Actively support all types of sales meetings to include regional meetings, plan of action (POA) meetings, and National Sales Meetings to include planning, content creation and content delivery.Leverage field experience and knowledge to participate in the cross-functional development of sales strategies.Create internal selling tools and provide feedback on the creation of external-facing selling tools.Create processes and forums for the gathering, approval and sharing of best practices through live calls or via a mobile learning management system.Leverage the mobile learning management system to develop new ways to train and develop the sales team; provide back-end data analytics on the success of learning programs.Work with individuals to identify skill gaps and create accountable learning paths to enhance their skills.Create curriculum focused on sales messaging and objection handling using live instruction and mobile learning management systems. Leverages digital platforms and tools to aid in the training and development of the sales organization. Position Accountability & ScopeThis position is accountable for improving the selling skills and performance of the sales organization. They serve as an expert resource for the sales team in the areas of sales messaging, clinical data understanding, product understanding and business acumen. They will be responsible for scheduling regular field time to better understand the current environment and setting calls with the field team to gain insight on curriculum approach. They will use their skill set, field knowledge and product understanding to develop curriculum that creates a competitive advantage for the organization. ExperienceA successful candidate will have experience in two of the following three areas: sales, sales leadership, marketing, sales training. Without direct experience, a successful candidate will demonstrate how prior project work in these areas has prepared them for success in this role. Ten years of relevant work experience including three years of direct industry experience in medical device sales, neuromodulation experience a plus. Direct experience working with physician customers with a strong aptitude for understanding clinical data. Strong communication skills, specifically with the ability to deliver effective training to large and small audiences. The ability to work cross-functionally within the organization and lead by influence on cross-functional projects. Solid understanding and ability to apply key business concepts, process, and practices. Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
