Job Description

The Purchasing Manager will manage all Contract Manufacturing Organization suppliers (CMO) as the relationship owner for supply continuity, continuous improvement, quality, risk mitigation, and unit cost improvement. Ensure the timely delivery of top-quality material in full. Partner with the Contract Manufacturing accounts to pursue process improvements to enhance efficiencies, optimize lead times, and mitigate continuity of supply risk and cost pressures. Conduct competitive bid events related to existing supply and potential alternate sourcing for internal processes. Work in conjunction with Operations, Supplier Quality, Sustaining Engineering, Marketing, and Finance to: 1) develop accurate12-month forecasting models, 2) conduct supplier business reviews, 3) resolve any material/service non-conformance (NC), 4) change to material or source, 5) pursue supplier remuneration for financial damages due to supplier negligence. Negotiate best pricing/service through the quotation process. Responsible for sustaining supplier contract renewal process; seeks improved business terms and cost structure through negotiation process. Responsibilities:Relationship manager for all assigned contract manufacturing organizations.Coordinates and reports on assigned CMO related portfolio supply and demand plan as part of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.Manage specific supplier accounts for sustaining business supply continuity to include: 1) CMO Forecasting, 2) Reorder Points/Purchase Orders, 3) Delivery on time and in full, 4) Pricing, 5) Specification Changes, 6) Material/Service Non-Conformance resolution (NC), 7) Supplier Business Reviews, 8) Contract Renewals, 9) Risk Mitigation activities,Responsible for providing a 5% cost down for all managed materials/services purchased. Negotiate best pricing and service through the competitive bid process (RFx). Respond to supplier price increase notifications; negotiate with supplier to mitigate negative cost impact. Manage full product transfers for new CMO business relationships or portfolio expansion to existing CMO partners.Lead supplier in process improvement to enhance efficiencies and mitigate cost pressures.Manage complex material supply chains, potentially needing to engage with Tier 2+ raw material or service suppliers.Manage material lead times and reorder points to mitigate material scrap associated with expiry. When applicable, champion product shelf life terface with internal key contacts/stakeholders to ensure material requirements are being met.Understand market/industry trends for managed materials; utilize knowledge to develop cost improvement project ideas.If applicable, maintain SAP master files, which include the vendor master, information records, and material itiate and present ECNs when applicable.Proficient in SAP, capable of maintaining SAP Master Files (e.g. Vendor and Material Masters)Conduct applicable company and departmental training and maintain compliance to all assigned policies and procedures.Qualifications:Bachelor''s Degree in Business or Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of combined experience in purchasing, engineering, or quality; medical device manufacturing and SAP experience preferred.
