You can work remotely in the US and don''t need to be present in a Jacobs office. Near the coasts is preferred. Based out of one of offices in the US, you''ll be part of an industry-leading company and will lead permitting efforts on challenging offshore wind (OSW) programs. Leadership can come in the form of technical leadership, project management, or both. The focus will be the US, but you may have the opportunity to work internationally as well. You also can contribute to our broader Energy Transformation initiative and participate in a range of terrestrial renewables projects. You will be challenged to mentor and develop our team to build skills, knowledge and resources to enable us to win and deliver OSW work. The role offers the opportunity to shape our offshore wind business strategy. Your client and industry relationships will also be leveraged to help us win new work and position for upcoming opportunities. Working together, we''ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so we can make positive impacts on the future - big and small, global and local. • Progressive experience in the permitting and planning of OSW projects • Direct experience or familiarity working with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) for the permitting of OSW • Experience in environmental consulting with direct involvement in the offshore wind industry • Familiarity with the OSW project development life-cycle • Familiarity with the US offshore wind industry, its players, and market outlook • Seller-doer mentality and ability to seamlessly work on project delivery and preparation of proposals • Ability to market and sell our services to internal and external clients • Leadership skills and the ability to identify suitable candidates to help grow our OSW practice. Ideally, You''ll Also Have: • Relationships with OSW developers, suppliers, or utilities involved in the development of OSW projects • Experience with the National Environmental Policy Act • Beyond BOEM, experience with federal agencies typically involved with OSW projects (USCG, USACOE, USFWS, NOAA Fisheries, EPA, DoD, FAA, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, etc.) • Experience with federal statutes applicable to OSW projects in the US (Marine Mammal Protection Act, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, etc.) • General understanding of the consultation and permitting requirements for state waters and onshore impacts • Led the development of a Construction and Operations Plan (COP) • Been involved with preparation of a Site Assessment Plan (SAP) • Understanding of the permitting and planning process for transmission line and grid upgrades that will be necessary to support the OSW industry • Project management experience • Interest in terrestrial renewables Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
