The Ultra Engineering function manages a portfolio of specialist capabilities, generating highly differentiated solutions and products by applying electronic, mechanical, and software technologies in demanding and critical environments to meet customer needs. The Software Engineering function in Ultra supports the software development lifecycle consisting of requirements analysis, design, implementation, test and verification in order to deliver software components into projects and products and supports the deployment and maintenance of software components. A professional at this grade possesses knowledge for specific fields and performs structured work assignments. Uses established procedures to solve problems by making judgments and gets work done with quality under moderate supervision. Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures. Ultra Intelligence & Communications develops, delivers, and supports real-time, network-centric command, control and interoperability solutions for warfighters in multi-domain environments. A leader for over 30 years in battlespace management and tactical data link solutions - Ultra understands the complexities of introducing full data link capabilities, including Link 16, Link 11 and Link 22, into operational theaters. Ultra''s solutions allow warfighters to visualize the operational space and supports command and control on actionable information from managed data link networks. Ultra''s products and services are on aircraft, ships, submarines, land vehicles and in air operations centers and other key locations throughout the world. As the primary data forwarding system between tactical networks, Ultra''s systems and personnel have supported our military in every major conflict since our founding in 1987. Ultra is looking for an experienced software engineer to join our agile development team. The successful candidate will join a team supporting a variant of Ultra''s flagship Command and Control (C2) system while focusing on extending it to include new tactical interfaces for the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). The target USMC platform is Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS) which comprises dual mobile vehicles that contain Ultra''s C2 system along with radar and effectors. The new hire will actively participate in the software development and quality process including coding and testing and will also serve as a mentor to junior team members.
