Job Summary: Execution of purchase orders, shipping and receiving, inventory management, product conversions, product quality, supply open-order management and usage-stock-par level management. Assist hospital staff with the preparation of Purchase Order and Purchase Requisitions, through active discussions regarding vendor sourcing, GPO contract pricing and product availability. Work independently and as a member of the Supply Chain group, under direct and indirect supervision. Receive assignments and is expected to carry them through to completion with substantial independence. Process purchase orders, in accordance with the approved Purchase Requisitions, through Meditech or Oracle. Utilize GHX to transmit the orders to vendors for GPO price verification, unit of measure confirmation and the identification of any product order exceptions. Perform daily work activities of receiving and distribution of medical and non-medical supplies/equipment to the departments who initiated the product shipments. Ensure supplies are inspected prior to acceptance and verify the count and condition of the delivery. Assist truck drivers with loading/unloading deliveries. Process receipts in Meditech and maintain delivery documents with signatures for record files. Observe equipment and product handling safety guidelines. Develop and maintain an inventory control system for all supply items with par levels and lead times, making periodic adjustments as necessary. Manage warehouse operations of slow moving inventory supplies, rehab equipment and office furnishings. Execute equipment and product transfer between warehouse and hospital, as needed, based on department requests. Maintain Meditech data files for vendors updates, product updates, inventory management, supply bin locations, products'' unit of measures, product pricing, order status and routine reports. Prepare and participate in periodic physical inventory counts. Participate in Supply Chain staff meetings, provide input to enhance the department''s objectives, maintain a clean and organized work environment and read emails in a timely manner. Attends inter-department meetings and educational offerings, as assigned. Assist Accounts Payable on invoice exceptions, price discrepancies and receiving receipts. Operate departmental equipment in compliance with established safety standards. Department equipment include:Two and four wheel hand truck, Flatbeds, Box truck with lift gate, Electric fork lift, Pallet jack, Exterior lift gate at the dock
