FOX61 in Hartford, CT is looking for a Weekend Morning Anchor/Multi-Skilled Journalist to join our award-winning team. We are looking for someone who can be an editorial leader for our weekend morning team. You will anchor our newscasts from 6-9 A.M. on Saturday & Sunday, and report three days a week. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, authentic, engaged, social media savvy and wants to be involved in the communities which we serve. This storyteller should live and breathe our Expect More brand and strive to deliver news to our viewers under three key tenets: Compassion. Community. Connecticut. Responsibilities: Anchor Weekend A.M. newscasts and report for other dayparts three days a week Fill-in on other newscasts on an as-needed basis Develop story ideas. Write, shoot and edit news stories for television, mobile and social platforms Proven success in delivering breaking news stories to viewers and engaging audiences through the use of all facets of social media Post on your station social media pages multiple times a day and have an active presence on Twitter and Facebook Write digital stories and post to CMS Cultivate and maintain news sources throughout the community Write scripts and produce stories of program-length formats, as requested by newsroom managers Attend informational seminars and workshops that further advance professional journalist knowledge on issues and skills. Connect with local communities by meeting with local groups and representing FOX61 at important events in and around Hartford Requirements: Minimum 3-5 years of experience, preferably as an Anchor/Reporter BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field Ability to shoot and edit Strong writing and editorial skills Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news events in a multi-platform environment Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook and a keen eye toward what''s trending locally and nationally. Strong understanding of the tenets of professional journalism Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, and Axis graphics a plus Travel: Rarely: less than 10% Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc. About TEGNA TEGNA Inc.
