General Manager

Our client, a small and well-established manufacturer located in the Columbus, IN area is seeking an experienced General Manager. This role is responsible for providing hands-on leadership to manage the Operations functions to include Engineering, Quality, Customer Service and Production. This is a key role reporting directly to the President of the Company.General Manager Key Functional ResponsibilitiesDirect and coordinate activities of businesses and departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, customer service and distribution of productsManage team of 30 employees, preparing work schedules for 2 shift operations and assigning specific dutiesReview financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvementEnsure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures, providing resources and trainingEstablish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with team members as necessaryDetermine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processesOversee activities directly related to productionDirect and coordinate organization''s financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiencyManage the movement of goods into and out of production facilitiesEvaluate information to determine compliance with quality standards and determine whether events or processes comply with standardsCommunicate with customers to provide information regarding schedules, materials, and shipping statusGeneral Manager RequirementsBachelor''s degree in relevant Operations, Business Management, or Engineering field (Preferred)Strong safety and compliance knowledge and the ability to recognize/correct hazardous conditions and behaviors requiredExperience leading and managing direct reports to include demonstrated success in coaching, driving results, delivering performance feedback, and motivating a teamProven results in identifying and implementing improvement initiativesAbility to understand and be able to interpret and analyze financial and operating statements
