Logistics Planner

Responsibilities: • Obtain accurate and complete load information from customers for order processing and ensure that all load templates have current requirements. • Solicit business referrals and contact information to generate new customer accounts and new business from existing customers. • Negotiate the best rate for services while meeting Company profit margin goals. • Monitor customer order volumes and trends, initiating calls to customer and notifying management when routine order trends are interrupted or declining. • Alert customers to additional charges and request acknowledgement in writing via fax or email. • Nurture continuous move mentality within carrier base. • Grow customer base through phone sales by understanding that growth from existing clientele is the optimum way to increase sales. The Logistics Planner will generate a weekly list of prospects to be provided to the Operations Manager. • Ensure carrier and customer database information is communicated to systems support staff for accurate data management. • Process all orders in TMS program. • Cultivate customers by demonstrating cordiality and responsiveness to customer needs to assist in obtaining repeat orders and growing the account. • Keep management abreast of new customers for follow up in a weekly report to the Operations Manager. Qualifications/Background Profile: High School diploma required, Associate''s degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of chemical bulk shipping experience or Iso-container drayage and port/depot operations Professional telephone demeanor Organized and able to excel in a multi-tasking environment Ability to work in a team environment and share daily workload for increased continuous movements among Logistics Planners High level of proficiency in using office equipment and in Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint ----------Download the Sparks Group Jobs mobile app from Apple App Store or Google Play.----------Qualified candidates should send their resume AND call Sparks Group for additional details.
