Transportation Coordinator

Since 1969, we''ve led the industry in developing innovative technologies for recycling scrap into high-quality steels that are all around us, from bridges and buildings to cars and appliances.Basic Job Functions: The transportation coordinator is primarily responsible for arranging truck shipments generated by the sales department, using Carrierpoint TMS, arranging non-finished goods shipments, and coordinating shipments with the shipping department, while working actively to control freight costs. In addition to the primary tasks, the TC assists the Transportation Supervisor with reporting, rail and other shipments, supporting OTD initiatives, and other tasks as required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a logistics role. Interest in learning other roles in the department.
