PDS Tech Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Technician - Painter/Prepper in Columbus, MS. Position Summary: Assist in various paint projects including: preparation of surface and application of paints, paint projection systems, striping, and assembly of VIP design books, vinyl applications as well as day-to-day operations and organization Primary Responsibilities: Assist in preparation: 20% Prep aircraft, aircraft parts and components for paintOperate the various sanding boothsAssist in stripping parts, priming parts and preparing surfaces for the application of finishesTaping, masking, striping and the order in which colors and finishes are appliedLearn to clean guns, pots and other tools Prime and paint : 20% Apply finishes to aircraft and componentsMix paints and primersUnderstand the impact of temperature and humidity on finishesOperate the various paint and curing boothsAssist with hanging of parts, movement of aircraft and transport of aircraft components Touch up and paint aircraft and components: 20% Buffing surfaces and touch up operationsBrush skills and the application of paint to fine detail componentsDetail and prepare aircraft for delivery Support functions: 40% Assist the paint department with consumables managementAssist the paint department with PPE managementOperate paint projection system to aid in stripingPrepare VIP design books to be delivered to customerAll other duties assigned by the Manager, Paint Operations For Additional Information on this Opening Please Contact Kellye Roberts: Direct Number: 912-257-4867 Email Your Updated Resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé] Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required: Candidates must have 2+ years of experience in painting. The experience must be in aircraft, auto, etc. NOT residential or home painting. High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of two (2) years related experience; some experience may be substituted for education normally acquired in the attainment of an A & P license or a degree directly related to paint.Trade school (mechanical or paint related)- Preferred not Required. Preferred: A&PMust communicate verbally and in writing in English as well as work with non-English speakers.Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
