Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer Planner

PDS Tech is seeking Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer Planners on the Space Launch System (SLS) Program in New Orleans LAThe ideal candidate will use technical skills which adhere to the relevant Production Engineering command media, customer requirements and best engineering practices and principles. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, work with technical experts across the volume of the vehicle in multiple disciplines related to, manufacturing planning, build product structure, corrective actions and tooling requirements. The ideal candidate will: Develop, implement and maintain various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration. Develop manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives.Develop and integrate suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements. Review and approve supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met. Develop tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.Manage tools from initial design to end of use disposition. Investigate and resolve manufacturing related issues. Perform producibility assessments for part or product designs. Provide producibility input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules. Develop integrated work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments. Draft, update and review processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements. Work under general direction. No travel required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 7+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment in any of the following areas: work instruction creation and review, product architecture analysis, shipside planning experience or tooling development/analysis. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Some college study is preferred although not requiredPrevious experience in the defense or aerospace industryPrevious experience in Mechanical/Structural and/or Electrical Systems Typical Education/Experience: Some college study is preferred in a technical field (engineering, aeronautics, or aerospace, ), 7 or more years'' related work experience in defense, aerospace, or aeronautics manufacturing environments or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
