Equipment Operator/ Test Technician

Responsibilities:• Operate and maintain pilot-scale manufacturing equipment • Comply with facility and asset safety rules • Participate in facility and asset safety initiatives • Effectively troubleshoot issues, solve problems and take corrective actions • Contribute to evaluations, conclusions, and recommendations in regard to experiments and projects • Communicate project information with appropriate people in a timely manner • Work as a member of a Research & Engineering team • Assist on technical programs contributing in an area of specialization • Generate new, workable ideas, methods, and conceptsDaily responsibilities include:- Heat up of equipment and raw material preparation - Discussion of trial plan with researcher - Running trials, adjusting process settings and troubleshooting issues as needed - Packaging of trial materials produced - Cool down of equipment and clean-up of work area Basic Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent plus 1-3 years of relevant machine operation experience (or equivalent)• Self-motivated with strong work ethic• Ability to adapt to frequent changes• Basic knowledge of computers, Windows, and Microsoft Office• Mechanical aptitude (knowledge of equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, etc.)• Good math skills including the ability to perform simple calculations when provided the necessary inputs• Physical requirements include:o Stand and walk 90% of shifto Reach, bend, squat, and climb stairs frequently during a shifto Perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) several times per shifto Use small hand toolso Learn to drive mobile powered equipment such as fork lift, pallet mule, and scissor lift Standard hours are Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm.
