Plan Analyst

Senior Plan Analyst Houston, TX 77002 M-F 8am-5pm Contract Pay Rate: $36.78/hr. DESCRIPTION: Provides examination/review, analysis, research & interpretation of construction documents to ensure, compliance with various code ordinances & regulations. Ensures construction meets the (IBC) international building code or the (IBC) international residential building codes, ordinances & technical specifications. Approves plans that satisfactorily meet code requirements, meets with the general public, contractors, technical professionals, and businesses to respond to inquiries & technical Issues. Requires good communication skills & the ability to interpret, explain procedures/guidelines & other duties as assigned. COMPLEXITY: Work consists of standard procedures and tasks where analytic ability is required in following guidelines, policies and procedures IMPACT OF ACTIONS: Errors in work could lead to moderate expenses and inconveniences. Work is typically performed under moderate to limited supervision with standard operating procedures. The incumbent functions under general review and at times autonomously, with the supervisor available to answer more difficult questions. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct Supervision: No direct report employees Indirect Supervision: No indirect reports CONTACTS: Internal Contacts: Level of internal contact is primarily with professionals and supervisors. Interaction requires moderate tact and cooperation; e.g., scheduling and/or coordinating two personal calendars, resolving problems and/or obtaining necessary information. External Contacts: Level of external contact is primarily with citizens, visitors and/or mid-level representatives of government agencies, guests, vendors and professional contacts with allied organizations. Interaction involves information exchange and/or simple service activity requiring moderate tact and cooperation
