Job Description

The Chronicle of Philanthropy is seeking an Editorial Events Manager to join its dynamic newsroom. The Editorial Events Manager is responsible for managing logistics for a range of live virtual events about important topics affecting nonprofits nationwide, including serving as a liaison with guest speakers, providing technical support during the live sessions, writing summaries of online sessions, and performing other editorial duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, writing and proofreading, and working well with people within and outside an organization. Proficiency and comfort with technology is required; familiarity with webinar production is a plus. In this role, the Editorial Events Manager will manage live-event logistics and report production timelines, help publish advice content on , write summaries of live briefings and introductions to advice collections, and assist with content curation. What you''ll do: Work closely with the Chronicle events team and marketing strategists, vendors, graphic designers, and freelancers to ensure highest-quality live events. Manage project schedules for live events and sponsored reports to meet deadlines, and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders as appropriate. Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions. Participate in planning calls and help develop content outlines for online sessions. Manage speaker logistics including planning calls, rehearsals, and live events. Coordinate with advertising team and manage sponsor materials for live events. Edit promotional materials , slides, and planning documents for sessions. Provide technical support for live events on two live-streaming platforms. Curate content for inclusion in live events and collections. Write event summaries and collection introductions for . Produce and publish advice content on . Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree, preferably in English, journalism, marketing, or communications. 3-5 years of experience in a program, project management, communications, or fundraising role, preferably with experience working at a nonprofit. Excellent organizational skills with strong prioritization and planning skills. A self-starter with the ability to work under - and meet - tight deadlines and manage projects independently. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility required. Familiarity with charitable fundraising a big plus. Familiarity with webinar production a plus. Resume and cover letter are required.
