Health Advocates is seeking an experienced Medical Collections Manager for our main office in Chatsworth, CA . Job Summary Directly and through subordinates is responsible for the day-to-day functions within the Insurance Unit in identifying and resolving underpaid accounts for multiple hospital clients. Job responsibilities: responsible for identifying, monitoring, and resolving underpayments by payers due to contract interpretation issues, medical necessity and miscalculations, utilizing payer project appeals, alternative dispute resolution, and litigation via interaction with various commercial and managed care health plans, develop positive external and internal relationships in order to facilitate timely resolutions for discrepancies identified, participate in decision making strategy to achieve overall goals, oversees the preparation of staff reviews and address performance and/or other issues related to the day-today functioning of the department, monitor the department staff day-to-day activity to ensure accounts are accurate and worked in a timely manner, and perform miscellaneous related duties, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor''s Degree in a related field or any combination of education, training, or experience to perform the essential duties of the position 3 to 5 years of hospital collections experience for non-government receivable Knowledgeable of Managed Care contracts in a health care delivery environment at a Supervisor or Senior level position Demonstrated success with building and guiding a team to develop and monitor collections Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven leadership skills and abilities Detail oriented and strong organizational skills Strong problem solving skills Ability to work independently and with others Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) Must be able to type 35 wpm
