Job DescriptionThe Energy Americas Development Manager is instrumental for establishing the direction and agenda in how to win work in the Sector. They are responsible for ensuring that we engage the right clients, in the right locations in a meaningful way and are competitive in the marketplace. The Development Manager is instrumental in working with the Unit General Manager and Divisional General Managers to build the right capability and focus in the business to convert prospects into revenue. A key aspect of their role is to support and develop effective account and sector leadership through coaching, directing and role modelling.Key ResponsibilitiesChampion the key account model and take a leading role in motivating, directing, and developing our account leader community.Working with the extended leadership build and develop the right capabilities in the Unit to help convert opportunities into revenue.Work with Account Leaders and Sector Leaders to maintain strong focus and ensure we deliver against business plans and sector strategies.Define and prioritize key clients, identify, and engage emerging clients, lead strategic decisions on which clients to pursue/not to pursue and ensure a healthy pipeline of revenue opportunities.Actively participate in key customer interactions and engagement and hold assigned key client relationships at senior level.Working with UGM develop C-suite connections at key platinum and emerging clientsRaise Mott MacDonald''s profile through enhanced industry and media presence.Detect key themes and trends in the marketplace, communicate them effectively across the business and drive appropriate action.Take ultimate responsibility on the cases for subventions.Where applicable, take a key role in preparing the annual business plan and strategies.Be responsible for the effective use of business development and proposal budgets.Candidate SpecificationWe invite candidates with the following experience:At least 20 years of experience each with increasing responsibility in the Energy SectorBachelor of Science in Engineering, PE preferredStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to connect with clients and convince them on how Mott MacDonald can be their provider of choiceTo be successful in this role you will need to:Lead our US Energy Unit pipeline and facilities business development to establish Mott MacDonald as the trusted partner of choice for clients in the Sector.Build senior level networks with sector clients, partners, and competitors. Nurture and grow a sustainable network of board level client and partner relationships, leveraging these for maximum impact for Mott MacDonald.Lead the establishment and drive the implementation of the Sector Strategy through the unit/division''s business plans.
