Metallurgist

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgist who will be primarily responsible for the failure analysis inspections, operations, reporting and consultation services. Responsibilities Supervision, conducting and reporting of failure analysisPresentation of technical work in different platforms, both written and oral in a confident mannerExhibit pragmatic and innovative with respect to both conduct of the investigation and providing solutions for the clientSupervise routine metallographic examinations and review / compose standard reporting comments Skills / Qualifications BS in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering is required. 2-4 years analyzing metallic fractures using scanning electron microscopy / energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy is beneficialExperience and recognized qualification in MetallurgyExperience in conducting and reporting of root cause failure analysisExperience in working with SEM / EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy / Energy Dispersive analysis)NOTE: This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
