Candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Navy and contractor subject matter experts and the senior instructional designer working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. In this project, we transform curricula formulated by subject matter experts into media-based training modules used in the Navy''s formal courses of instruction and self-paced training aids.The Instructional Designer will provide our customer with training support necessary to develop, present and maintain course materials, classroom instructions and support documentation for both instructor led and electronic training to include, but not limited to software simulations, PowerPoint presentations, training materials, processes and procedures, guides, meeting minutes, etc.Are you ready to unleash your potential?Leidos Defense Group provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Responsibilities - Work you''ll do:Works with customers and subject matter experts to identify training needsCreate engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transferVisualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished productConduct instructional research and analysisApply tested instructional design theories, practice and methodsDevelop, design and edit curriculum material to customer specifications for supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)Quality control training materialsDevelop instructional aides to depict processesRequired Experience, Skills, and Education:Requires Bachelor degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technologyExcellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design modelsLesson and curriculum planning skills with attention to detailSolid knowledge Learning Management SystemsVisual design skills (illustration, layout, and design) and ability to storyboardAudio design skills (recording and editing voiceover)Excellent grammar and writing skills including the ability to write in a clear, concise and complete mannerAbility to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scriptsAbility to work independently and in a team settingTravel will be required as part of this position (roughly 20%)Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education - Favorable if you have:Familiarity NEVEDTRA 130B & 131BFamiliarity Navy''s training planning process methodology manualExperience with Navy Training System Plan (NTSP)Familiarity with Modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment (MOODLE)Experience with AN/SQQ-89 AV15Basic understanding of government classification rulesExperience with reviewing technical information and translate it into curriculum productsExpert with Microsoft Office productsProficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe CaptivateAbility to take screen shots and screencasts off system user interfacesClearance Required:Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.Pay Range:
