Payroll Clerk About the Company and Opportunity: Our client is a leading full-service general contractor in the PNW They are seeking a Union Payroll Clerk to join their Portland office The Payroll Clerk will support the weekly processing of payroll for multiple entities with employees in multiple states The company is known for investing in their employees and has many employees that have been with the company for 30+ years They offer excellent benefits, including: Healthcare, generous time off, 401(k), Life Insurance, FSA, EAP, and more Some of the employee reviews, include things like: Family oriented company Great management and supportive leadership Overview of the Payroll Clerk role: Complete new employee set up for payroll and review new hire paperwork for completion and accuracy Conduct E-Verify requirements on a timely basis Support payroll time entry activities related to project site needs Coordinate and complete employment verifications Set up garnishments and audit for garnishment compliance Assist in the weekly processing of payroll; multi entity and multi state Maintain payroll related records as needed Other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Clerk: Associates degree in accounting, payroll certification, or relevant payroll training preferred 2+ years of payroll processing experience Previous union payroll compliance experience preferred but not required Timing is everything.
