Fit Recruiting is seeking a dedicated, experienced, motivated leader and advocate to serve as theExecutive Directorfor a well-known thriving nonprofit making a difference daily in Mobile, Alabama, and surrounding communities.The Executive Director, with direction from the Board of Directors, will lead the team to achieve the organizations mission by overseeing business operations, team development, and fundraising. This position is to be also responsible for driving the effectiveness of the organization through hiring, training, and developing a passionate staff and committed group of volunteers, directly raising funds to support the work and manage the development team to meet annual fundraising goals and ensure fiscal responsibility in funds and grants management.The ideal candidate shares a drive and motivation to make each day better than yesterday sharing core values of leadership, collaboration, teamwork, and learning. Salary is up to $100K depending on experience with 100% individual health insurance benefits and paid time off.Qualifications8+ years of Development experience with a nonprofit organization10 plus years of Effective team building and leadership skillsDatabase management experienceHighly proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, QuickBooks, and Mac platformsDetail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracyHighly organized and flexibleAbility to multitask and deadline orientedExcellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-directed and able to lead and complete projectTeam player with an ability to interact effectively and respectfully with people from different cultures and experiences and surrounding communitiesExcellent verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasivelyFit is targeting you but, if you know of anyone in your network who may be interested, please let me know. We pay referral fees!Duties:Report all activities and organization ongoings to Board of DirectorsSupport Board Committees, Board of Directors meetings, and Young Advisory Council meetingsManage human resources including all direct report staffing issues,salaries, hiring, development, evaluation, and separationDevelop and implement the best structure to achieve work, plan and organization strategyLead staff and assist Finance Committee in developing annual and projected budgetsOversee all financial, bookkeeping, and office management needsSupport the Boards Strategic Planning process including the following:Regularly reviews and updating strategic plansWork with the boards committees to develop measures that track the teams ability to meet thestrategic planning effectivenessTrackandmaintainimpactnumbersandreportstoBoardonKeyProgressIndicatorsLead and manage overall development efforts to raise funds for the approved budget including thefollowing:Build and support a strong development team (board, staff, volunteers)Support and build the Boards Development CommitteeLead the development and communications staffLead the development team in the creation, marketing and implementation of fundraising events, including the following:Recruit and secure sponsors for major events (secures higher contributions and solicits corporate sponsors for annual giving), as required.Cultivate and nurture relationship with all sponsors, ensuring proper acknowledgement, stewardship, etc.Assist committee and development team in the sponsorship process including developing the ability to ask and secure in-kind and cash contributionsLead the development and program team in grant seeking, writing, and managing including the following:Recruit and secure sponsors for major eventsCultivate and nurture relationships with all sponsors, ensure proper acknowledgement and stewardshipAssist committees and the development team in the sponsorship process including development the ability to ask and secure in-kind cash and contributionsLead the development and program team in grant seeking, writing and managing including:Coordinate the team in seeking out grants for the organization and developing relationships with fundersDevelop and manage grant calendarsManage financial requirements of grant awardsManage internal communications and coordination of grant deliverables and expectationsLead the development team to garner new and strengthen existing members supporting the organization in creating and implementing new member outreach initiatives, as well as cultivating and strengthening existing members and ensuringrobust membership communicationAssist with annual review of the target audience for communication outreachProvide support and training to development teamAssist Communications Director & Education and Outdoor Coordinator with boosting external communications via social media, newsletters, website and videosWork with Communications Director to garner public relations, social media, sponsorship and fundraising eventsMaintain and foster a strong working relationship with local, state, and national leaders including elected officials, foundation leaders and community partnersGain and maintain big picture understanding and major issues and communicate to members as appropriate
