Lab Director

A health services network in Tennessee is currently seeking a licensed professional to join their staff as their new Lab Director. In this role, the Lab Director will be responsible for the operational activities of the IVF Laboratory. Responsibilities: The Lab Director will: Undertake embryology laboratory procedures, including advanced procedures requiring micromanipulation of gametes or embryos Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises. Maintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to performance of the laboratory and individual technologists and to specific research projects Develop the proficiency necessary for oversight of technical staff in their use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system Review and oversee laboratory Quality Management (QM) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs Supervise, orient, and instruct laboratory personnel and assist in performance evaluations Oversee all Embryology laboratory procedures and quality management Handle the interview process for new embryologist, and junior support staff Troubleshoot laboratory issues, provide resolution assistance or initiate support request Implement new processes as necessary to improve performance and success rates Assist the Director in the review of budget and costs annually for laboratory. Review with the Laboratory Director day-to-day operations and ongoing success rates Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications 10+ years previous related work experience Doctoral Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, and/or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution Current license as a Laboratory Director issued by the state Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Able to multitask efficiently and effectively Desired Skills: Certified by the American Board of Medical Microbiology, the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, the American Board of Bioanalysis, or the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology
