Clinical Embryology Laboratory Director

A medical services company in New York City is currently seeking an experienced, certified professional to join their staff as their new Clinical Embryology Laboratory Director. In this role, the Clinical Embryology Laboratory Director will be responsible for overseeing all clinical operations of the Embryology, Andrology and Endocrinology Laboratory on a daily basis. Responsibilities: The Clinical Embryology Laboratory Director will: Perform high complexity assisted reproductive technologies, including but not limited to: ICSI, assisted hatching, embryo biopsy for preimplantation genetic diagnosis, immature oocyte collections, cryopreservation of ejaculated, testicular, and epidydimal sperm Perform highly complex assisted reproductive techniques, including but not limited to: oocyte retrievals, embryo transfer, fertilization and embryo assessment, embryo cryopreservation, oocyte denuding, embryo thawing, semen preparation for IVF and intrauterine insemination, semen analysis, etc. Execute laboratory policies, practices and procedures to ensure that laboratory accreditation is maintained in good standing under OSHA and CLIA''88, and that laboratory practices conform to all other applicable Federal, State and Local regulatory laws and guidelines Lead the laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs to ensure they satisfy requirements and meet industry standards as established by qualified outside agencies Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; render opinions on new equipment and procedures; and, recommend preventative programs, as needed Oversee all efforts to ensure the laboratory is enrolled in a Health and Human Services approved proficiency testing program, and that proficiency test samples are tested as required; the results returned as required; the proficiency test reports received are reviewed and evaluated to identify problems; and an approved corrective action plan is completed in a timely manner when proficiency test results are unsatisfactory Oversee preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer''s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques, and guiding employees in basic maintenance procedures to ensure the safe and proper operation of equipment Assist in the recruitment, selection, retention, training and supervision of laboratory personnel to ensure the delivery of the highest quality embryology services Work cooperatively with the practice''s multidisciplinary management team to provide good patient care and achieve the objectives and goals of the practice Handle other duties, as needed ??????Qualifications: 5+ years of experience a Human Embryology / Andrology Laboratory Technician Ph.D. in a Biological, Chemical, Clinical Laboratory, and/or Physical Science Certification as a Technical Supervisor in an Embryology and Andrology by the American Association of Bioanalysts Proficient in the following areas: QC Procedures, Culture Dish Preparation, Sperm Preparation, TESE/MESA Preparation, Oocyte Retrieval, Oocyte Grading, Cryopreservation, Embryo Thaw, Fertilization Assessment, Embryo Assessment; Embryo Transfer, ICSI, and Assisted Hatching Experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role Aptitude to make appropriate judgements about the clinical significance of Laboratory Data Knowledge and experience with the strategies of Laboratory Management and Human Resources Management Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized
