Blood Bank Lab Manager

A New York City healthcare facility is currently seeking a new Blood Bank Lab Manager. In this role, the Blood Bank Lab Manager will be responsible for the management of staff and operations of the Blood Bank Team. Responsibilities: The Blood Bank Lab Manager will: Work closely with the Supervisors to assure adequate staffing and educational opportunities for the team Prepare and manage the lab budget, covering equipment, supplies and staffing. Collaborate with other Departmental Managers to create and implement department-wide initiatives. Review validations and SOPs. Act as the escalation point for the team when difficult samples require review. Ensure the lab remains compliant with safety standards, legal regulations, licensing and accreditation requirements Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 10+ years of Leadership / Supervisory experience in a Clinical Lab Setting Bachelor''s Degree in Medical Technology and/or an appropriate Biological / Chemical Science from an accredited college or university Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license Reference laboratory level experience LIS upgrade/implementation experience Strong experience in formulating and managing budgets Knowledge of New York and New Jersey regulatory oversight Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Certification as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB)
