Internal Medicine MA

A New York City health services company is currently seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) for a promising opportunity with their growing Internal Medicine team. In this role, the Internal Medicine MA will be responsible for providing clinical and clerical support to Physicians, employees, and patients of the facility. Responsibilities: The Internal Medicine MA will be responsible for: Greeting and engaging patients and guests; monitoring patient flow in the waiting room and assessing patients'' and guests'' needs as they wait Answering telephones, taking messages, and routing calls accordingly Checking in patients and preparing and processing appropriate forms; checking out patients at the end of the visit Collecting cash from patients for charges and co-payments and providing patient receipts Participating and supporting the Care team in direct patient care Taking vital signs, phlebotomy, heights, weights, finger sticks, electrocardiograms, head circumference measurements, vision and hearing screening, etc. Collecting and accurately labeling specimens Ensuring that all pertinent equipment is sterilized according to schedule based on the purpose for and use of the equipment Completing all necessary forms in an accurate and timely manner Performing other duties, as required Qualifications: 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant High School Diploma/GED Medical Assistant (MA) certification Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) as an Ambulatory Care setting Associate''s and/or Bachelor''s Degree Internal Medicine background
