A New York City healthcare network is currently seeking a new Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for a promising opportunity with their Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. In this role, the Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will be responsible for serving as a Case Manager for each patient to ensure that services are coordinated to meet each assessed need Responsibilities: The Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will: Serve as a Case Manager for each patient to ensure that services are coordinated to meet each assessed need Conduct therapy groups Assist patients in the identification of problems and work with patients in the definition of problems Ensure all necessary forms are completed; maintain accurate and confidential patient records Attends training seminars where instruction on treatment techniques and theories underlying these approaches are provided, and obtain the CASAC credential Identify and record significant data in the case folder regularly Hold individual conferences with other disciplines when necessary to facilitate effective treatment throughout the agency Meet weekly for clinical supervision with the Behavioral Health Supervisor, concerning work performed, problems encountered in the treatment process, and for case conferences Perform all forensic collection for patients on their caseload and monitors for treatment related issues in order to update the treatment plan Meet periodically with the Vocational Specialist and Education Specialist for case consultation and feedback Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 2+ years of work experience in Human Services providing treatment care; 2+ years of experience as a Substance Abuse Counselor. Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification Familiar with Regulatory Agency Regulations regarding the operation and practices of patient care Computer savvy Solid assessment, clinical and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (Written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Bilingual Prior Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) experience
