Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA)

A health services network in Upstate New York is looking to add a new Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) to their team in Oneida County. Responsibilities: The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) will be responsible for: Helping individuals to participate in games and recreational programs Coaching and encouraging individuals to develop daily living skills Providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment Developing, carrying out, and recording care plans Watching patients to make sure they take medication Ensuring the health and safety of patients and staff in emergency situations based upon the training that will be provided Qualifications: 1+ year of relevant work experience High School Diploma / GED Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Associate''s and/or Bachelor''s Degree Prior experience working in the Medical and/or Social Services field
