Medical Assistant (MA)

A Brooklyn-based healthcare facility is actively seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their Adult and Pediatric Primary Care staff. In this role, the Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for providing clinical and clerical supports to Physicians and patients of the facility. Responsibilities The Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for: Meeting and greeting patient Preparing examination rooms Assisting with stress testing Support medical treatment of patients through Phlebotomy and EKGs Answering calls and taking messages Obtaining authorizations and eligibility Coordinating follow up visits for patients Inputting medical information and other data entry Performing other duties, as needed Qualifications 1+ year of experience as Medical Assistant (MA) High School Diploma / GED Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) program Medical Assistant (MA) certification Experience working with the Pediatric population Recent experience with blood draws Microsoft Office Suite proficient (Excel, Word, etc.) Knowledge of Medical terminology Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Associate''s and/or Bachelor''s Degree
