Dental Assistant

A New York City medical practice is looking to expand their staff with the addition of a new Dental Assistant to their team in Manhattan. In this role, the Dental Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Dental staff in the provision of services. Responsibilities: The Dental Assistant will be responsible for: Performing all dental sterilization techniques Taking vital signs Selecting & prefitting provisional crowns & orthodontic bands Removing orthodontic arch wires & ligature ties Taking impressions Placing & removing matrix bands Removing periodontal dressings Removing sutures placed by a licensed dentist Providing patient education Updating and maintaining required dental equipment checklists Performing other elated duties, as assigned Qualifications: 1+ year of relevant work experience High School Diploma / GED Completion of a Dental Assistant training program Solid assessment and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Certification for Dental Assistant from an approved program with NYS licensure Bilingual (English and Spanish)
