Child Life Specialist

A New York City hospital is currently seeking a new Child Life Specialist for a promising opportunity with their growing staff. In this role, the Child Life Specialist will be responsible for designing, managing, and overseeing an interactive, child-friendly space that promotes developmental skills and models age appropriate play activities. Responsibilities: The Child Life Specialist: Provides families with resources on 3K/PreK, enrichment, tutoring, daycare and other early childhood initiatives throughout NYC area Recruits, designs and manages family running program Holds caregiver education groups as appropriate, modeling play strategies to meet developmental milestones Organizes community events in alcove space focusing on parent-child bond and promoting healthy development Designs and implements in-services related to early childhood development for healthcare providers across pediatric healthcare settings Creates and delivers educational content for providers and caregivers through digital platforms Manages and distributes donations for caregivers and patients, including developmentally appropriate toys and infant / toddler clothing Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 2+ years experience working with high-need families in a Community or Hospital setting Bachelor''s Degree in a related field Bilingual (English and Spanish) Solid assessment and documentation skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Master''s Degree in Public Health, Child Life, Education or other related field Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 0-5) Experience working directly with caregivers to support Early Childhood Development Demonstrated experience with Program / Service Development
