Packaging (Swing Shift)

Location: 4545 W. Lyndale Ave. Chicago, IL 60639Packaging employees work in a fast paced environment that can be physically demanding removing packaged bread/bun products from conveyor placing them on store trays or casing product for shipment.Duties and Responsibilities: Must understand and follow GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES at all times.Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.Must be aware of the importance of ensuring the correct code is on the bag and/or box.Must understand how to use the handheld scanning devices.Must be able to understand how to generate orders and scan tags.Must be able to pull orders from fresh as well as stock product.Needs to ensure we are using the right box, tray, and divider for the product being ran.Needs to be able to set up and run the tape machine.Must inspect pallets for damage and cleanliness.Must be sure the proper label (including date and number of labels) is being properly generated.Needs to keep his or her area clean at all times.Will do extra cleaning in the area if time permits, or as instructed by foreperson.Must have knowledge of the proper way to grind bread.Must be able to recognize good product and what to pull off the line.Must be able to stack boxes and keep up with a fast paced environment.
