Position SummaryAs part of the Financial Reporting team, this role is directly responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of SEC filings, including the 10-Qs and 10-Ks, and coordination with our Legal team with respect to the capital market transactions and other miscellaneous filings.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K, including supporting schedules, and assist with the internal and external review for these terface with all Accounting personnel and other departments in order to timely facilitate the completion of job responsibilities, including but not limited to, gathering, analyzing, and validating information and transactions.Assist in the review of quarterly earnings releases.Participate in the XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) reporting process utilizing outside software vendors and/or consulting expertise.Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving Accounting guidance. Provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner.Research and prepare disclosure related to GAAP and SEC requirements. Complete GAAP disclosure checklists to ensure all required disclosures are included in filings.Assist in the communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with Company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues.Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review requests of external auditors. Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for earnings per share calculations, stock compensation expense, and other non-routine Accounting entries or analysis.Assess the quarterly reporting process to reduce the timing to prepare quarterly SEC filingsOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesRequired to work extended hours during quarter and year end reporting processes.Assist with technical accounting and research for significant transactions. Participate in other projects and ad hoc research.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Required Education, Experience, LicensureBachelor''s Degree in Accounting.At least two (2) years of experience at a Big 4 or large regional Accounting firm, with exposure to SEC reporting and technical accounting research. Preferred Education, Experience, LicensureMasters of Science in Accounting or other advanced degree.Experience in upstream and midstream Oil & Gas Industry.Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively working toward obtaining CPA license.Required Core Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, combined with the ability to research and propose company positions on accounting and reporting issues.Able to apply Accounting knowledge, technical Accounting and analytical skills to interpret financial data and reports. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel including PivotTables, V-Lookups.Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and disciplines of the organization.Adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior when carrying out job responsibilities and interacting with others.Good multi-tasking and organizational skills with significant attention to detail and accuracy.Basic use/operation of standard office equipment.Effective time management skills to meet set deadlines, prioritize, and evaluate multiple projects. Highly motivated team player with good interpersonal skills to build professional relationship and work closely with employees at all levels in all disciplines.
