Linux Systems Engineer: Remote

Job Description: Provide support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Amazon Linux OS running in VMware and Cloud. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the RHEL 7.x/8.x and Amazon Linux 1/2 operating systems. The position requires superior troubleshooting skills, capacity and performance experience and reporting, a thorough understanding of network protocols, implementation experience in the user of highly available applications, experience with Red Hat Satellite and kickstart technologies. This individual will also be required to have demonstrated working knowledge of VMWare virtualization, Active Directory authentication using SSSD and patching with yum. Shell scripting experience is a must for this position. Experience with AWS preferred. Provide day to day operational support for the Linux and Amazon Linux environments, which are based in regional data center locations as well as the AWS cloud 24x7 ''On-Call'' support rotation required Patch, upgrade and maintain the OS Ensure all systems maintain correct configurations. Make recommendations for operational improvements Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for our installed technical solutions. Work on troubleshooting issues and addressing to meet SLAs As a member of the OS Support team, you will be providing incident support for all Linux and Amazon Linux systems on a rotating basis Monitor the various application work queues, and complete the incoming requests in a timely manner Participate in root cause analysis bridges and provide technical assistance when required Frequently monitor and review system capacities
