Hours: 6:45a-3:13p or 7a-3:30p Dress code : casual, can wear shorts and short sleeves, must have closed toed shoes. Safety glasses (provided) Length of assignment: Evaluation hire depending on job performance, attitude, and attendance Job Description: Summary Under general supervision, assemble wire cable assemblies and small wire harnesses from customer schematic drawings and job orders using hand tools and small hand-held power tools; perform other related duties as required. Essential Functions (include but are not limited to the following) â–ª Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures (could include): o Remove cable sheathing/cable jacket o Cut conductors to length o Apply terminals with automatic crimping machine or hand-crimping tool o Strip wires using hand operated wire strippers or automatic wire stripping machine. o Wire connectors by inserting pre-terminated wires per assembly drawings. o Applying wire ties with hand operated tie wrap gun or pneumatic tie wrap machine. o Apply identification labels onto wires and cables. o Insert wires and cables through pre-cut shrink tubing and/or expandable sleeves. o Apply heat to shrink tubing. o Tin wires by using solder pot o Install various styles of connector back shells and/or hoods. o Layout wires based on drawings, diagrams and schematics â–ª Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process â–ª Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components â–ª Align material and put together parts to build more complex units â–ª Check output to ensure highest quality â–ª Maintain equipment in good condition â–ª Keep records of production quantities and time â–ª Report on issues, malfunction, or defective parts Non-Essential Functions â–ª Sweep area at the end of each workday. â–ª Count and verify parts and components in productions kits in preparation of assembly process Minimum Qualifications â–ª High school Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Last Updated: 05-31-2018 (JLC) 2 of 3 â–ª Basic math skills and ability to read tape measures and rulers accurately. â–ª Read and comprehend simple written instructions, sentences, and paragraphs in work related documents. â–ª Able to follow directions verbal or in writing. â–ª Ability to read and understand schematic drawings, diagrams, and job orders. â–ª Knowledge and ability to use hand tools, small hand-held power tools, and bench top tools. â–ª Able to work in team environment with minimal supervision. Mobility â–ª Sitting â–ª Standing/Walking â–ª Climbing/Reaching â–ª Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Squatting/Crawling â–ª Twisting/Turning/Bending Lift/Carry/Pull/Push â–ª Light physical effort requiring lifting and moving of lightweight materials of 0 to 4 pounds. â–ª Objects weighting up to 25 pounds. â–ª Objects weighting up to 50 pounds. â–ª Objects weighting more than 50 pounds. â–ª Pulling/Pushing effort requirement to remove cable sheathing/jacket and/or applies shrink tubing Fingering/Grasping/Feeling â–ª Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and handle materials. â–ª Able to make repetitive hand movements. Working Conditions Open area-working conditions, worktables, benches, and storable areas with the absence of disagreeable elements. Temperature is regulated, and environment is quiet and well lit. Multi[1]positional chairs with footrest provided. Additional lighting is provided as needed. Generally, position does not require the use of personal protective equipment, except when tinning, use of eye protection is required. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or move from one workstation to another during assembly process. Tools Required â–ª side-angle wire cutters, â–ª 507 racket-type crimping tools, â–ª automatic bench top wire stripper, â–ª automatic Molex crimping machine, â–ª wire tie gun, â–ª electric bench-top wire stripper, â–ª pneumatic foot-actuated Molex and Daniels crimping machines, â–ª k-press wire terminating machine, â–ª pneumatic foot-actuated tie wrap machine, â–ª bench-top wire twisting machine, â–ª solder melting pot, â–ª heat gun, and â–ª other hand tools, small power tools, and bench-top tools as required during the assembly process.
