The responsibility of the porter is to be able to clean and maintain the various facilities to the Akorn level of standards.To remove all garbage and waste on a timely basisTo clean and dust all offices as requiredTo be able to clean and buff all floors as neededTo clean all windows both interior and exteriorKeep the building free of spills, damaged product, oil, grease, etc. by using the proper equipmentClean sinks, countertops, microwaves, refrigerators in break roomsRestock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areasGathers and disposes of rubbish and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipmentMaintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry suppliesScrubs, sanitized, and buffs floors using powered machines equipped with rotating brushesObserves appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor servicesRemove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow blowers and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicalsSet up, arrange and remove tables, chairs, and prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetingsMaintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable conditionWearing proper PPE at all timesLoads and unloads supplies, and moves heavy furniture and equipment using dollies, handcarts, or power equipmentGeneral maintenance of grounds
