Engineer - Utility Gas Engineering

Conducts all work activities to comply with all safety, DOT/KY PSC, OSHA, EPA, and gas industry regulations, procedures, policies and guidelines. Assists with the development of goals, objectives, budgets, programs, and procedures. Regularly reviews assignments to assure safety, compliance, optimum efficiency, and cost effectiveness.Development and maintenance of construction standards, engineering & construction specifications, material specifications, customer gas piping handbook and document control processes for gas engineering owned documents.Project management of capital projects, execution and support of new commercial rotary business, major account service renovations, and farm tap installations. Responsibilities will entail engineering design, estimate, commercial, material selection & procurement, budget forecasting, construction coordination & support, and documentation.Performs engineering assignments and reviews involving hydraulic modeling, established calculations, tests, data gathering, correlation and analysis. Performs a variety of routine tasks to become familiar with the engineering methods, practices, and software programs used by the company. Includes identifying opportunities for improvement of established policies and procedures.Supports various gas operations and construction groups with engineering-based problem identification, analysis, and resolution. Assigned periodic weeks to provide afterhours engineering support to gas operations.Engineering responsibilities related to Gas Operations Initiatives led by other departments.Represents the company in industry organizations (i.e. Kentucky Gas Association, Southern Gas Association, American Gas Association, and other industry bodies). Assists with development of responses for informational requests from industry organizations. Serve on cross functional teams with other departments & lines of business as assigned, i.e., Gas Materials Committee.Occasionally directs the activities of coops, supervisors, and others as they perform various activities.All other duties as directed by management.
