Job Summary The Director of Corporate Relations will build relationships with existing and future clients by networking, marketing, cold calling, advertising, etc. to generate interest for DSI offerings as well as develop customized solutions for the client. The Director of Corporate Relations identifies, solicits, and stewards corporate relationships that support the Drexel Solution Institute''s (DSI) needs and help drive the DSI''s corporate relations program which aims to increase corporate relations and build key partnerships to support strategic priorities. Essential Functions Business Development Planning Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends Present to and consult with mid- and senior-level management on business trends with a view to developing new programs, services, and distribution channels Identify opportunities for marketing, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in impact, collaboration and partnership expansion Using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop DSI''s unique value propositions and strategic differentiators Expand the breadth and depth of current corporate relationships including philanthropy, sponsorships, collaborative research, co-op experiences, recruitment and continuing education. New Business Development Meet and identify potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging our network - including advisory board members Set up meetings between client decision makers and internal stake holders/program directors, leadership, and staff. Plan approaches and pitches by working with team to assist in developing proposals/collateral that speak to the client''s needs, concerns, and objectives Cold call as appropriate within our market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of partnership opportunities Participate in determining the pricing point for the solutions/services offered to clients Present an image that mirrors that of the client to align strategic value proposition Identify new opportunities to expand the level of engagement with corporate partners, and develop outreach and solicitation plans, while leveraging the distinctive expertise of the university''s faculty and staff Experience applying various techniques and methodologies that support corporate relationship building, including prospect identification, as well as cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Client Retention Manage a portfolio of new and existing clients Act as a point of contact for clients and stakeholders Present new solutions and enhance existing relationships; Work with faculty, staff, and other internal colleagues to meet existing and potential client needs Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs Management and Research Maintain weekly progress reports and ensure client relationship data is accurate Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team Track and record activity with prospective clients using Salesforce Research and develop a thorough understanding of the university''s people and capabilities; and Learn and understand DSI''s goal and purpose to continue to enhance performance. Required Qualifications Master''s degree in Business Administration/Business or related field OR equivalent work experience (5 years) Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated success in business development and sales; Current knowledge of marketing strategies and measures of success (higher education background preferred) Exceptional written and oral communication skills; Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively pitch opportunities to stakeholders Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office & Teams, virtual meeting platforms and database tools highly desirable Demonstrated ability to serve as part of a team and develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies Evidence of good citizenship and the ability to work effectively with colleagues Experience and confidence in networking with and collaborating with senior leaders Location University City - Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid/Remote Schedule) Additional Information This position is classified as exempt with a salary grade of O.
