Competitive Pay & Sign-On BonusFull Benefits Eligibility Union CoverageJob DetailsQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Education/ Work Experience:EMT certification -or-Successful completion of paramedic clinical rotations -or-Medical assistant with ECG or stress test experience - or-Minimum of one semester of nursing or medical school- or-An approved combination equivalent combination of education and experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation.Acute healthcare experience preferredRelated college/vocational preparation preferredKnowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:Excellent verbal expression and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and efficiently perform job functions in a fast paced puter and clerical skillsKnowledge of medical terminologyRESPONSIBILITIESInterprets telemetry rhythms, monitors for changes, and notifies RN of patient telemetry status changesRecognizes and trouble shoots equipment malfunctionExhibits critical thinking skills and appropriate judgments in decision making and actions related to alarm parameters, antiarrhythmic detection and rhythm qualityMaintains knowledge and skill level in all aspects of telemetry equipment and monitoringAssists in emergency situations as directed by nursing and/or medical staffFollows procedure for correct patient identificationPerforms routine and complex telemetry monitoring procedures within established guidelinesReviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variancesInforms nurse of variances to initiate examination of patientMeasures length and height of patients rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout using calipers, and posts information on the appropriate documentation form/EHRSupports unit with communication and other operational duties as delegated by the manager/designeeOrganizes assigned work and accurately completes workloadCommunicates with departments when needed to ensure an orderly, efficient, and timely workflowUnder direction of the manager, helps in the training/orientation of new employeesReadily accepts changes in assignment and demonstrates flexibility in altering workflow and/or job responsibilitiesCommunicates effectively and works collaboratively with the unit charge nurses, staff nurses, RRT/Flyer, and physiciansInterested in hearing more?
