Job Number: 42073Insurance Follow Up ClerkJob Description:Our client, a durable medical equipment supplier in Wilmington, is seeking an Insurance Follow Up Clerk to join their team. This company is passionate about career and personal development and growth. The Insurance Follow Up Clerk will be responsible for receiving orders from medical offices and obtaining insurance authorizations. The hours for the Insurance Authorization Clerk are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with 1 hour for lunch. Pay starts at $13/hour.Responsibilities:Receive orders from medical offices needing insurance authorizationVerify receipt of order and obtain any additional necessary informationObtain insurance authorizations and follow up on requestsDetermine outstanding insurance claims that need follow upObtain information needed for billingPerform other clerical duties related to insurance and billingEducation Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate degree preferredDesired Background/Skills:Minimum two years experience in a medical officeEffective verbal and written communication skillsExcellent phone etiquette and internal/external customer service skillsExperience using Microsoft Office and standard office equipmentQualifications:Knowledge of medical terminology as well as insurance and reimbursement proceduresComprehensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and other insurance guidelinesData entry skills (50-60 WPM) requiredAbility to file and maintain proper notes for recordingKnowledge of HIPAA compliance guidelinesAbility to establish and maintain organization in the work-space to improve efficiency and minimize errorsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment Other Information:Insurance Follow Up Clerks must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check Greene Resources is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
