A medical center in Texas is currently seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist for a promising Night shift opportunity with their staff. In this role, the Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary care for both the inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities: The Respiratory Therapist will: Provide therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary care for both the inpatients and outpatients 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Administer therapeutic medical gases, delivering aerosol therapy, administering prescribed pharmacological medications, and evaluating and reporting the effectiveness of the prescribed therapy to the physician, as well as other health care workers Assist with procedures used for long and short-term continuous ventilation, airway management, pulmonary postural drainage or chest physiotherapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic testing techniques i.e.: Pulmonary Function testing/Bronchoscopies/EKG/ABG/Exercise and Nocturnal oximetry studies Assist with the patient''s orinasal and/or tracheal suctioning Keep adequate and accurate records of the patient''s therapy and other department records, as required Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit, possessing the ability to assess data reflective of the patient''s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient''s requirements Perform other duties, as needed. Qualifications: 1+ years of Clinical experience Bachelor''s Degree in a related field Registered/and or certified and licensed by the state of Texas in Respiratory Care Registration by the National Broad for Respiratory Care (NBRT) or registry eligibility is also required. BLS certification Knowledge of accepted Respiratory standards and practices. Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting Respiratory Care. Computer savvy Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills ACLS certification
