Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA)

A New York healthcare organization is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) to their team in Chemung County. Responsibilities: The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) will : Help individuals to participate in games and recreational programs Coach and encourage individuals to develop daily living skills Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment Develop, carry out, and record care plans Watch patients to make sure they take medication Ensure the health and safety of patients and staff in emergency situations based upon the training that will be provided Qualifications: 1+ year of relevant work experience High School Diploma / GED Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Associate''s and/or Bachelor''s Degree Prior experience working in the Medical and/or Social Services field
