Maintenance Technician

Title: Maintenance Technician Summary: Contract-to-hire Maintenance Mechanic opportunity! Nesco Resource is seeking someone who is flexible, knowledgeable in this trade. Mechanically inclined, and self-motivated. Hours: Flex Schedule between 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd shift Pay: $17.00+/hour, based on experience Location: Kansas City, MO Job Responsibilities: Ensure proper operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines, conveyor systems, and support equipment Follow sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer''s instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions (mechanically and hydraulically) Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools Order spare parts as necessary Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using: rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop equipment Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed Understand the basic principles of HACCP and food safety and how they apply to your job Assist with other duties as assigned Physical Demands: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time Requires frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting and stretching Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination Requires ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet May require working outside and being exposed to the elements (e.g. heat, cold, rain, etc.) Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years'' experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing facility Must possess welding experience in gas & electric welding Ability to fill out pertinent documentation neatly and legibly and utilize computers as necessary Ability to work independently (self-motivated and self-directed) Demonstrates the ability to pay close attention to detail Can effectively communicate cross-departmentally and with the management team at all levels Contract-to-hire.
