ECS is seeking a Mid to Sr Level NetBackup - VMWare Engineer to work in our Washington DC office. Job Description: ECS has an exciting opportunity with the US Mint to provide O&M along with modernization support for their IT Operations Support division. In this position you are the ''go to'' person for all things VMware and Veritas NetBackup related.On a daily basis, you will be involved with responding to trouble tickets, service requests, resolving issues with failed backups, along with monitoring systems health and capacity.Additionally, you''ll spend time:Establishing system backup and restore policies and procedures for on-site and cloud-based backup methodologies and standards.Establishing system development and integration methodologies and standards in a 24x7x365 environment, High Availability, Web server, Applications (Exchange, SQL, Oracle), data backup/restore & connectivity services.Evaluation of cloud backup and features of new releases NetBackup Appliances, EMC Power Path, Time finder, Storage Life Cycle, NDMP for NAS backups, Exchange versions, OpsCenter.Developing enterprise system architectures both for onsite and cloud-based support and systems integrations for government and commercial agencies.Constructing and testing systems in the development environmentIntegrating and implementing systems and the supporting infrastructure in the operational environmentMonitoring and analyzing performance problems and recommending solutions to enhance functionality, reliability, and usabilityDeveloping transition strategies and plans to transition from legacy backup systems and planning for the future requirements.Participating in project/program management reviews and document creationMeeting 24/7 on-call duties over weekend/holidays as-necessary.Demonstrating your hands-on expertise VMWare ESXi with a Nutanix (Prism) focus.Demonstrating your hands-on expertise with Veritas NetBackup and 3340, 5240 backup appliances.Demonstrating your hands-on expertise with Veritas Enterprise Vault.Lend skills and knowledge of IT systems to facilitate support for US Mint systems.Accomplish administrative functions required to support the VMWare environment.Creating and maintaining scripts utilized in gathering information from active directory, modifying local systems behavior, and installing applications to assist customers in deploying applications.Generating and maintaining detailed, comprehensive and clearly understandable documentation associated with each of the automation systems as required.Maintain proficiency as new tools/capabilities are implemented.Provide updates to ECS and Customer leadership.Required Skills:Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.Minimum of a Bachelor''s Degree in a relevant field.Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)Four to Eight years'' experience with NetApp SAN and Symantec NetBackup.Experience with tape drive and disk zoning for various types of switches.Experience with infrastructure Management to include Clustering, High-Availability, Files management, SAN Management (VERITAS Storage Foundation, SAN Point Control), and Hardware problems resolution.Experience with SAN point Control configuration, provisioning and configuration of storage and tape librariesExpert in defining and executing enterprise-wide and large-scale Backup policies, data replication and Disaster Recovery with NetBackup and Extensions with Solid understanding of Storage and Appliances -
