Plant Human Resources Manager - (12231)

This is an Excellent opportunity to work as a management team member at Silgan Containers; the largest manufacturer of metal food cans in the U.S. This position manages all plant human resources maintaining compliance with corporate policies/guidelines and applicable state and federal laws. Train and coach facility managers and hourly employees on new procedures, testing, and paperwork in a LEAN manufacturing environment. Essential Job Functions: Establish/maintain communication with management staff and hourly employees. Administer workers compensation program. Administer and process FMLA, Short Term, and Long Term Disability requests. Conduct and report on investigations (harassment and/or discrimination). Recommend/administer discipline when warranted. Assist supervisors/plant management with disciplinary issues. Handle benefits administration with assistance from Corporate Office as needed. Develop/update plant job descriptions, plant rules, procedures and policies. Prepare weekly manning schedule. Gather statistical information and relate this information to plant management and others by use of reports and/or presentations. Job Requirements Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources Management or related field. SHRM - SCP or SHRM-CP, or PHR/SPHR strongly preferred. Minimum 3-5 years'' experience in a manufacturing setting. Prior experience required in human resources in a non-union environment. Must have exposure to workers'' compensation and FMLA leave administration.
