Data Configuration Engineer

Modis is seeking a Data Configuration Engineer for the Test Systems Engineering (TSE) Team. This role will develop data acquisition system configurations to ensure the accuracy of data acquired from development and production turboshaft and turbofan engine tests. The ideal candidate has a solid technical background, understanding of gas-turbine engine operation, experience with data acquisition software/hardware, and knowledge of analog and digital signal processing. Essential Responsibilities: Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the set-up of engine test facility data acquisition systems Develop data acquisition configuration files used for development and production engine tests Develop software packages used for data acquisition Collaborate with stakeholders in and outside of the TSE team on data acquisition requirements, resolution of open issues, and definition of unique data delivery requests in development tests Provide operational support for data systems used in production engine tests Give oversight to instrumentation and data systems calibration efforts, ensuring data accuracy, precision of internally-developed thermodynamic rating algorithms and traceability to National Institute of Standards &Technology (NIST) criterion Give input to test readiness and tollgate reviews in preparation for development engine tests Document best practices and user guides for data acquisition tools Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position) Desired Characteristics: Experience or familiarity with programming language such as Python, SQL, and XML Experience or familiarity with documentation control such as Tortoise SVN Ability to learn customized data acquisition systems Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to work independently Strong problem-solving skills Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records
