Eckerd Connects partnered with the Local County School Districts of Pinellas and Polk counties Florida to serve as a DJJ Alternative School.This school model offers an array of services and interventions tools that are designed to help youth build needed skills to successfully and permanently exit the Juvenile Justice system.follow the link for more information about this program: ConceptThe Program Support Specialist Supervisor provides training and supervision to staff and participants and administrative functions as necessary. Those employed in this position are expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and independent decision making in frequent association with staff and clients within the program.Essential FunctionsProvide supervision to PSS staff to include: writing bi-weekly staff schedules, providing/arranging trainings, on-the-job coaching, corrective actions, preparation and service of probationary and annual performance evaluations. Collaborates with Case Managers to create Weekly Participant Activity Schedule. Responsible for assigning and assisting with transportation duties; i.e., Curfew Checks, Participant pick-up, participant drop-off, counseling appointments, community service projects and other associated transportation activities, associated with the Weekly Participant Activity Schedule and verifying all completed assignments are reported to Case Manager as required.Provides direct participant supervision in the absence of a Program Support Specialist.Adhere to the prescribed, authorized plan and providing an environment conducive to effective intervention services including supervision of participants and assessment of participant skill levels in order to assist them with meeting assessment plan goals and education.Prepares a bi-weekly schedule identifying interventions and value-added services to Program youth; schedules and delivers sessions in accordance with the program site schedule as required; will address questions or concerns and utilize training and instructional methods that reinforce learning.Create and complete a Weekly Intervention Completion Checklist and provide to Case Managers and Administrative Assistant weekly, reflecting all completed delinquency intervention services, community service, Mental Health/Substance Abuse services and any other intervention provided to participants.Assist, advise, and counsel a diverse population with regard to program policies and standards while demonstrating sensitivity to needs and circumstances; performs routine follow-up with participants, Case Managers and Program Director. He/she will provide updates and concerns regarding youth progress to the assigned Case Manager.File and maintain thorough, accurate records including assessments, assignments, reports, performing data entry and other program related information as required.Position SpecificationsEducation: High School Diploma, or equivalent, and at least two years of direct experience with at-risk youth population. An Associate of Arts, Bachelor or Master''s Degree may substitute for two (2) years of professional experienceExperience: Two years general office experience required. Two years'' experience in external relations and/or fund development, preferred. Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, and the use of office machines and equipment required.Skills: Excellent costumer communication/service. Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others. Must be able to read and follow guides; utilize effective management skills; present information to participants in a clear fashion, address questions or concerns and utilize effective training/instructional methods to reinforce learning. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to facilitate groups. The ability to work with minimal supervision while performing dutiesOther: Must meet state criminal background check requirements.Travel: Must have and maintain an appropriate and valid state driver''s license.
