Senior Project Accountant Summary: A small and growing real estate company, conveniently located in a beautiful building in the South Park area of Charlotte, is looking to add a Senior Project Accountant to their close-knit team due to company growth! The Senior Project Accountant will report to the Development Controller and be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting duties for the portfolio of active development projects across storage and multifamily properties. This position will involve entering job cost information in Yardi Voyager for the development projects, as well as preparing draws, maintaining budgets, and performing job cost reconciliations, general accounting, and financial reporting. Location: Charlotte, NC (South Park) - 100% onsite Compensation: $80,000 - 95,000 + 10% bonus Hours: 40-45 hours a week - 8am-5pm M-F (flexible) Job Responsibilities Responsible for performing all accounting functions for a portfolio of development projects. Maintain development budget and commitments in Yardi Job Cost for all aspects of the project life cycle. Assist development project managers in effectively managing project budgets and answering any related requests. Perform month-end closing process, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and recording accruals and adjusting journal entries. Prepare funding requests and submit to equity partner and/or lender in required draw form, and act as primary accounting point of contact to communicate with equity partners and lenders as needed to complete the funding process. Assist with performing accounts payable for assigned projects to ensure expenses are paid timely and recorded accurately, including entering invoices, printing checks, and initiating electronic payments. Provide supporting documentation for tax return preparation and financial statement audits. Prepare recurring and ad hoc internal and external reporting as needed. Participate in process improvement initiatives that support the growth strategy, strong system of internal controls and operational excellence. Job Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master''s degree preferred 5-10+ years of progressive GL accounting experience required, including month-end accounting and financial reporting experience 2+ years of recent project accounting experience, including AIA/project billing, managing project budgets, job costing, etc. Real Estate or Construction industry preferred Intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities required Yardi Voyager/Yardi Job Cost software highly preferred Category Code: JN001, JN005
