Production Scheduler | Los Angeles

Job ID: 6604Position Description: Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc., one of the largest metals distributors in the US, is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to join our team in Vernon, CA. Primary responsibility is to provide all scheduling of processing equipment to achieve the most efficient production schedule and provide 100% on-time delivery to the customer. This includes: • Scheduling of all processing equipment including: Band saws, plate cutting (Oxy Fuel, plasma, laser), machining, piece finishing, and Coil Processing (Cut to Length and SLitter). • Management of proper machine capacity and available work hours • Adjustments to schedule based on customer need, equipment downtime, etc. • Conflict resolution with customers and suppliers • Customer satisfaction management of Quality with a 98% on-time delivery requirement • Minimizing overtime expenses by producing an efficient production schedule • Daily compliance with job work instructions • Identification and implementation of continuous improvements in all work processes • Other duties as assignedPosition Requirements: Position Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED required • Minimum 1 year of related experience • Problem solving skills • Root cause analysis skills with corrective action follow-up • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks • Track record of self-motivated, results-orientated team player • Customer focused We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
