CNC Machinist

The current available position is for a VMC setup/operator in a small lot, tight tolerance, job shop run environment. You will need to have good machine setup experience and critical thinking skills. A typical day will consist of 3-5 setups based off software notes and your own experience (No production setup sheets). Our shop has recently acquired two new vertical machining centers. One equipped with a 4th Axis Rotary table and the other with a Trunnion table. You will be given an opportunity to fill a role setting up/operating, and cad cam programming these machines. You will also be given the opportunity to be a part of developing new machining processes and fixture development. Responsibilities: • Organizing and working off WO start dates. • Finding the program within our file system and following the sequence of operations. • Reviewing the tool list and program notes. • Loading the program. • Setting up the tools per what is listed within the program settings. • Finding the correct work holding and setting up per past experiences and program notes. • Verifying conformance of finished features. • Deburring finished features. • Recording an accurate account of setup and run times.
