BRIEF DESCRIPTION The Quality Technician will utilize quality measurement tools and methods to inspect and document machined parts and welded assemblies. • Carry out quality inspection of machined components and welded assemblies utilizing handheld gages and computerized inspection equipment (Faro arm and CMM) • Provides machine operators with documented comparison of parts to print • Assist in training of new employees use of gages and other measuring devices • Performs receiving, first piece, in-process, and final inspections as required • Initiates and/or completes required documentation logs or paperwork • Communicate with operators on the shop floor, management, suppliers, and customers • Support gage calibration processes • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor • Maintain a safe and clean workspace • Follow established safety rules, work instructions, policies and regulations • Some travel may be required JOB SKILLS • Experience in quality assurance concepts and the use of quality checking instruments including hand gages, micrometers, indicators, bore gages • Ability to calibrate and adjust basic gauging equipment • Knowledge of CMM software and language commands • Able to accurately read blueprints and understand GD&T principles • Strong working knowledge of machining and welding processes for ferrous metals
